Google for Startups Residency is a six month program for growth-stage startups, offering personalized support and unique access to Google resources, experts, and global connections. It aims to support the strategic and measurable growth of their business.

Google for Startups Residency Class #4: Welcome to the Age of Assistance

Speech is already the most intuitive way in which we communicate and exchange information. So, it's natural that speech also becomes our interface with everything else on the world. Through our voice we'll control our smartphones, appliances, automobiles and much more.

Focusing on that reality - aside from the fact that Brazil is already the 3rd larger market regarding usage of Google Assistant - Google for Startups is opening its first class completely focused on helping startups develop within the digital assistants universe.

During this class, aside from the traditional benefits offered by Campus for Startups Residency, your startup will have access to a full programming and additional benefits focused on the Assistance Age.

The revolution is just beginning, and you're already a part of it.

The Program

Thiago Brandão, Founder of Cuponeria

Cuponeria was created in order to bring the discount coupon experience to Brazil. They started up in 2012, as a blog focused in offering discounts for local businesses in the Copacabana Beach region in Rio de Janeiro. From that point, their growth started and eventually they became an app. In 2015, the interactions between Google and the startup began and, after being a part of Launchpad Accelerator and two classes of Campus Residency, the results could not have been better.

"We dove in, open to change whatever was needed. We redesigned the app and repositioned, in order to send the right message to counsumers", says Thiago. From 200,000 to 5 million users and a much better UX, Cuponeria's app, which used to have a 2-star rating rose to a 5-star rate and they were recently awarded the best Play Store app.
